Routing tables and longest prefix match

لم يُترجم بعد؛ يُعرض باللغة الإنجليزية

A router decides where every packet goes by reading its routing table: a list of destination prefixes, each with a port and a next hop. Watch four packets arrive at one router. For each, several rows match, and the router always picks the most specific one: the longest prefix. 0.0.0.0/0, the default route, catches everything else.
